Help Wanted: Test Pilots, Flight Test Engineers and Aerospace Engineers Needed

219885_10151122951771151_1667254069_oThe Equator Aircraft test team–that includes me–needs your help planning the ground and flight test of the EQP2 aircraft.

Who can help? There are 4 kinds of people who can help us.

1. Newbies. If you don’t know anything at all about flight test, that’s okay–this is a great way to learn. However, you will need a bit more enthusiasm and passion than the rest of us, because the learning curve is going to be steeper for you. It’s a tough mountain to climb, but those of us who’ve climbed it before are here to help you on your journey.

2. Experienced professionals. If you have already been there and done that, and you are someone who wants to share their experience, wisdom, and lessons learned are invited to participate as well. If you know someone who knows someone–please tell us! We are beating the bushes to find out as much as we can about successful amphibious and LSA flight testing.  (Even though EASA doesn’t call it an LSA.) We aren’t going to achieve our goals by the brute force of over-spending, so we have to make up for it in wisdom–yours.

3. Budding entrepreneurs. I prefer to use Dave Ramsey’s term, EntreLeaders, to describe the type of personality we are looking for. If you want to start your own flight test business and need a project to put on your resume, if you like the environment that a startup provides, and if you are a person with initiative and drive, then this project is for you.

4. Volunteers. No paychecks here. We are insidiously carving a niche in the world, somewhere at the intersection of open source, collaboration, innovation and aggregation and crowd-sourcing. Slow and steady runs and wins this race.

    Right now we are taking requirements from the EASA documents governing LSA’s, and we are turning those in to test points and test cards and a test schedule. We are also determining instrumentation requirements, data analysis plans, etc.

    Is all of the work being completed in Norway?  I would be interested in volunteering but have concerns regarding relocation.
