3 ways to get Flight Test current events & connections

Here are the three best ways to get current events and the most up-to-date information from the world of Flight Test, including news stories, info about conferences & symposiums, and connections with other flight test fans.

pinterest1. Pinterest

Pictures are worth a thousand words, especially when it comes to Flight Test — pictures of the amazing feats and marvels of science and engineering is what Pinterest/FlightTestFact is all about.  It’s a virtual pinboard for web-based news clippings. Browse through hundreds of photos of current events and news in aerospace, flight test, wind tunnels and ground test, and even some space flight test.  If you click on a photo like the one below–right smack dab in the middle–in the pinterest interface, you will link to the news story or website from which the photo was “clipped.”

2. Pinterest + RSS –> Twitter or Google+

Pinterest creates an RSS feed that syndicates the things you pin there. This feed is automatically tweeted out by @FlightTestFact and posted on the Google+ page. So you could subscribe to the feed in Google Reader or add it to your favorite twitter account software, like HootSuite.

The feed for any pinterest account follows this format: http://pinterest.com/FlightTestFact/feed.rss.

3. Twitter Widget

Finally, you can scroll through the Twitter widget in the right hand sidebar on this page to see news content from the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, SFTE, FlightTestToday blog, and several other sources of syndicated content, in addition to that news I manually retweet. Every Wednesday, I will give an in-depth introduction to one of these agencies or blogs, so you can connect with them, find them on social media or youtube, read about what they do and get a better picture of who they are.
